What are computer worms?
Computer worms are reproducing programs that runs without a host programthat travels across network connections. Computer worms differs from computer viruses by the fact that they can run itself, independently without a hosting program.
How do we get infected?
We can get infected by clicking on any form of attachment or link that links to an infected website.
Types of Computer Worms:
* Email worms
Spreads infected attachments or links by emails
* Instant Messaging Womrs
Sends infected websites to everyone on a certain person’s contact list.
* Internet Womrs
Uses local operating system service to scan all available network resources.
* IRC Worms
Sends infected files or links to infected websites
* File-sharing Networks Worms
Duplicates itself and places itself into a shared folder.
How can we get rid of them?
I really don’t know how you get rid of the computer worms from your hard drive, but you can protect your computer from worms before you get them.
These are the following ways how you can protect your computer from worms:
- You can install new patches provided by operating system and applicationg vendo
- Or simply, don’t run Microsoft software or don’t click on links that you received from an unknown person.
